🌡️ Febrile Convulsions / बुखार में दौरा पड़ना

🔹 What are Febrile Convulsions?

Febrile convulsions are seizures that occur in children between 6 months to 5 years of age, associated with fever but without any brain infection or other neurological disorder.
These are usually frightening for parents but in most cases not life-threatening.

बुखार के दौरे क्या होते हैं?
बुखार में दौरा पड़ना (Febrile Convulsion) एक ऐसी स्थिति है जिसमें छोटे बच्चों (6 महीने से 5 साल) को तेज बुखार के दौरान दौरा (झटके) आता है। यह देखने में डरावना लगता है, लेकिन ज़्यादातर मामलों में यह खतरनाक नहीं होता।

🔹 Causes / कारण

• High fever (usually > 38°C / 100.4°F)

• Viral infections (flu, cold, throat infection)

• Ear infections

• Family history of febrile seizures

कारण:

• तेज बुखार (38°C से अधिक)

• वायरल संक्रमण (जुकाम, खांसी, फ्लू)

• कान का संक्रमण

• परिवार में पहले से ऐसे दौरे होना

🔹 Types / प्रकार

1. Simple Febrile Convulsion – short duration (<15 min), generalized, occurs once in 24 hrs.

2. Complex Febrile Convulsion – longer duration (>15 min), focal, or occurs multiple times in 24 hrs.

प्रकार:

1. साधारण बुखार का दौरा – छोटा दौरा (15 मिनट से कम), पूरे शरीर में झटके, दिन में सिर्फ एक बार।

2. जटिल बुखार का दौरा – लंबा दौरा (15 मिनट से अधिक), शरीर के किसी एक हिस्से में या बार-बार दौरा।

🔹 Symptoms / लक्षण

• Sudden shaking or jerking of limbs

• Loss of consciousness for few minutes

• Rolling of eyes

• Frothing at mouth (sometimes)

• Sleepiness after seizure

लक्षण:

• अचानक शरीर में झटके आना

• कुछ मिनट तक बेहोश होना

• आंखें ऊपर की ओर घूमना

• मुंह से झाग आना (कभी-कभी)

• दौरे के बाद नींद आना या थकान

🔹 First Aid During Seizure / दौरे के समय क्या करें

✅ Keep the child on a flat surface, turned to one side
✅ Loosen tight clothes
✅ Do not put anything in the mouth
✅ Note the duration of the seizure
✅ Take child to hospital if:

• Seizure lasts > 5 minutes

• Repeated seizures occur

• Child not regaining consciousness

क्या करें:

• बच्चे को समतल जगह पर करवट से लिटा दें

• कपड़े ढीले कर दें

• मुंह में कुछ न डालें

• दौरे का समय नोट करें

• तुरंत अस्पताल जाएं अगर:

  • दौरा 5 मिनट से ज्यादा चले

  • बार-बार दौरे पड़ें

  • बच्चा होश में न आए

🔹 Treatment & Prevention / इलाज और बचाव

• Most children do not need long-term anti-seizure medicine.

• Treat underlying fever with paracetamol/ibuprofen.

• Tepid sponging for fever.

• Antiepileptic drugs may be considered in recurrent or complex cases.

इलाज और बचाव:

• सामान्यत: लंबे समय तक दवा की ज़रूरत नहीं होती

• बुखार कम करने के लिए पैरासिटामोल या इबुप्रोफेन दें

• गुनगुने पानी से स्पंज करें

• अगर दौरे बार-बार हों तो डॉक्टर विशेष दवा लिख सकते हैं

🔹 Prognosis / भविष्य

• 70% children never experience seizure again.

• Most children outgrow febrile seizures by age 5–6 years.

• No effect on intelligence or brain development in simple febrile seizures.

भविष्य:

• 70% बच्चों में दुबारा दौरा नहीं होता

• अधिकतर बच्चे 5–6 साल की उम्र तक इससे बाहर आ जाते हैं

• साधारण बुखार का दौरा बच्चों के दिमाग या बुद्धि पर असर नहीं डालता
