🔹 Introduction / परिचय

Dog bites are medical emergencies that should never be ignored. Even a small bite or scratch can transmit serious infections like Rabies, which is 100% fatal if untreated, but 100% preventable with prompt treatment.
कुत्ते के काटने के बाद तुरंत इलाज बहुत ज़रूरी है। छोटा सा काटना या खरोंच भी रेबीज़ जैसी जानलेवा बीमारी फैला सकता है। समय पर इलाज से इसे पूरी तरह रोका जा सकता है।

🔹 Immediate First Aid / तात्कालिक प्राथमिक उपचार

1. Wash the wound immediately with running water and soap for at least 15 minutes.
   घाव को तुरंत बहते पानी और साबुन से 15 मिनट तक धोएं।

2. Do not apply turmeric, oil, or herbal remedies.
   घाव पर हल्दी, तेल या घरेलू नुस्खे न लगाएं।

3. Control bleeding with a clean cloth or gauze.
   साफ कपड़े या गॉज से खून को रोकें।

4. Keep the wound open (do not bandage tightly).
   घाव को खुला रखें, कसकर पट्टी न बांधें।

🔹 Seek Medical Help Immediately / तुरंत डॉक्टर से संपर्क करें

Visit a qualified physician or hospital for proper evaluation and vaccination.
जितनी जल्दी हो सके डॉक्टर या अस्पताल जाएं ताकि उचित जांच और वैक्सीन लग सके।

🔹 Vaccination Protocol / टीकाकरण प्रक्रिया

1. Anti-Rabies Vaccine (ARV):

• Given on Day 0, 3, 7, 14, and 28.

• Prevents the rabies virus from developing.
  रेबीज़ वैक्सीन दिन 0, 3, 7, 14 और 28 को दी जाती है। यह वायरस को फैलने से रोकती है।

2. Rabies Immunoglobulin (RIG):

• Required for Category III bites (deep wounds, bleeding, or multiple bites).

• Injected around the wound for immediate protection.
  रेबीज़ इम्युनोग्लोब्युलिन (RIG) गहरे या खून वाले काटने में दिया जाता है। इसे घाव के आस-पास लगाया जाता है।

3. Tetanus Injection:

• If not taken in last 5 years.

• टिटनेस इंजेक्शन भी ज़रूर लगवाएं यदि पिछले 5 साल में नहीं लिया है।

🔹 Precautions After Bite / काटने के बाद सावधानियां

• Do not miss vaccine doses.
  टीके की कोई भी खुराक न छोड़ें।

• Do not drink alcohol during vaccination period.
  वैक्सीन के दौरान शराब न पिएं।

• Keep dog under observation for 10 days (if pet).
  अगर पालतू कुत्ता है तो 10 दिन तक ध्यान में रखें।

🔹 Warning Signs of Rabies / रेबीज़ के लक्षण

• Fear of water or air (Hydrophobia, Aerophobia)

• Irritability, restlessness

• Excessive salivation

• Difficulty swallowing

• Seizures or paralysis
