Normal blood pressure should be below 120/80 mmHg . When it is 140/90 mmHg or higher on repeated measurements, it is considered hypertension. 🔹 Types of Hypertension Primary (Essential) Hypertension – Most common (90–95% cases), develops gradually with age and lifestyle factors. Secondary Hypertension – Caused by an underlying disease (like kidney disease, thyroid disorder, adrenal tumors, or certain medications). 🔹 Causes / Etiology Genetic factors – Family history of hypertension.
