🔹 What is Sinusitis?

Sinusitis means inflammation or infection of the air-filled cavities in the skull (sinuses). When these cavities get blocked with mucus, bacteria or fungus can grow and cause symptoms.

हिंदी में (साइनोसाइटिस क्या है?)

साइनोसाइटिस में नाक के आसपास की हवा भरी गुहाएँ सूज जाती हैं या उनमें संक्रमण हो जाता है। म्यूकस जमा होने से सिर दर्द, नाक बंद और चेहरे में भारीपन महसूस होता है।

🔹 Types of Sinusitis / साइनोसाइटिस के प्रकार

  1. Acute Sinusitis (तीव्र) – Symptoms < 4 weeks

  2. Subacute (उप-तीव्र) – 4–12 weeks

  3. Chronic (दीर्घकालिक) – > 12 weeks

  4. Recurrent Sinusitis (बार-बार होने वाला) – Multiple episodes in a year

🔹 Common Causes / कारण

  • Viral infections (common cold)

  • Bacterial infection

  • Allergies

  • Nasal polyps

  • Deviated nasal septum

  • Pollution, smoke exposure

  • Repeated upper respiratory infections

हिंदी में कारण:
वायरल/बैक्टीरियल संक्रमण, एलर्जी, नाक की हड्डी का टेढ़ापन, नाक में पॉलिप, धूल-धुआँ, बार-बार जुखाम इत्यादि।

🔹 Symptoms of Sinusitis / लक्षण

  • Stuffy or blocked nose

  • Thick yellow/green nasal discharge

  • Facial pain & pressure
