🔹 Introduction / परिचय

Pulmonary Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease caused by the bacterium Mycobacterium tuberculosis. It mainly affects the lungs but can also spread to other organs like the brain, kidneys, or spine.

फेफड़ों की तपेदिक (टीबी) एक संक्रामक रोग है जो माइकोबैक्टेरियम ट्यूबरकुलोसिस नामक जीवाणु से होता है। यह मुख्य रूप से फेफड़ों को प्रभावित करता है, लेकिन शरीर के अन्य अंगों में भी फैल सकता है।

🔹 Causes and Mode of Spread / कारण और फैलने का तरीका

TB spreads through the air when a person with active TB coughs, sneezes, or spits.

Infection spreads easily in crowded or poorly ventilated areas.

People with low immunity (like HIV patients, diabetics, or malnourished individuals) are at higher risk.

टीबी हवा के माध्यम से फैलती है जब कोई संक्रमित व्यक्ति खांसता या छींकता है।

यह बीमारी भीड़-भाड़ वाले या बंद स्थानों में जल्दी फैलती है।

कमज़ोर रोग प्रतिरोधक क्षमता वाले लोगों को इसका खतरा अधिक होता है।

🔹 Symptoms / लक्षण

Common signs and symptoms include:

सामान्य लक्षण इस प्रकार हैं:

Persistent cough lasting more than 2–3 weeks / लगातार 2–3 हफ्तों से अधिक खांसी

Cough with blood or sputum / खांसी में खून या बलगम आना

Fever, especially in the evening / शाम को बुखार आना

Night sweats / रात में पसीना आना

Unexplained weight loss / बिना कारण वजन कम होना

Weakness and fatigue / थकान और कमजोरी

🔹 Diagnosis / जांच

Diagnosis of TB includes:

टीबी की पहचान के लिए निम्नलिखित जांचें की जाती हैं:

Chest X-ray – फेफड़ों की तस्वीर देखने के लिए

Sputum test (CBNAAT or AFB test) – बलगम में जीवाणु की जांच

Tuberculin Skin Test (Mantoux test) – संक्रमण की संभावना जांचने के लिए

Blood tests or CT scan – जटिल मामलों में

🔹 Treatment / उपचार

TB is completely curable with proper and regular treatment.

Standard treatment includes 6 months of anti-tubercular therapy (ATT) provided free of cost under the National TB Elimination Programme (NTEP).

Never stop medicines without doctor’s advice, as incomplete treatment can cause drug-resistant TB.

टीबी का इलाज पूरी तरह संभव है यदि दवाएं नियमित रूप से ली जाएं।

सरकार की राष्ट्रीय टीबी उन्मूलन योजना (NTEP) के तहत इलाज मुफ्त उपलब्ध है।

दवाएं बीच में बंद न करें, वरना दवा-प्रतिरोधी टीबी विकसित हो सकती है।

🔹 Prevention / बचाव के उपाय

Cover mouth and nose while coughing or sneezing.

Maintain ventilation in rooms and avoid crowding.

Get BCG vaccination in childhood.

Eat nutritious food to boost immunity.

खांसी या छींकते समय मुंह और नाक ढकें।

कमरों में हवा का उचित आवागमन बनाए रखें।

बचपन में BCG टीका लगवाना ज़रूरी है।

पौष्टिक भोजन लें ताकि रोग प्रतिरोधक क्षमता बढ़े।
